What to Expect During First Visit
What to expect during your first Dental Visit at Capital Dental
Whether it is your first time visiting a new dentist or you haven’t been in a while, here’s what you can expect when visiting Capital Dental for the first time.
We will ask you to complete our medical history form online which will be sent to you via email or if no email address then you need to arrive at least 10 minutes earlier than your appointment time to fill out medical history form in the office.
X-rays
Dentists will take x-rays (bitewings or Periapical x-rays) as this will help the Dentists to detect tooth decay or cavities, gum disease, bone loss, and infection. While sometimes they would need a panoramic x-ray to check on impacted teeth, bone abnormalities and more.
Lead apron is available upon request for your protection.
Exam
You will have a comprehensive dental exam. Your dentist will check your teeth and mouth for cavities and gum disease. The dentist will also evaluate your risk for any other oral health problems. Your dentist will also talk with you about any problems you’ve been experiencing, such as toothaches, sensitivity, or cosmetic concerns.
Following the dental exam, your dentist will put together an individual treatment plan designed to improve your oral health. Your dentist will explain each procedure and the corresponding cost, and we would recommend for you to ask questions to avoid confusion and disputes.
Scheduling your Follow Up Appointments
Following your appointment, the receptionist will schedule your follow up appointments based on the the treatment plan given to you by your Dentist, your availability and the practice availability.
